Smetana’s lively musical picture of his native Bohemia is finally available scored for school and amateur orchestras. This skillful simplified arrangement from the Music Publishing House Andrea Wiegand makes it possible for school and amateur orchestras to take a musical trip along the romantic Moldau River! From the First source of the Vltava over the St. John’s Rapids to Vltava – powerful stream – our (almost) full-length version has all the memorable motifs and melodies.
The standard version of the score is for strings, woodwinds (Holz I) and brass (Blech I). A more complete orchestra gets closer to the original sound; additions may include flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon, as well as 2 trumpets, 2 trombones (altern. french horn) and tuba. As available, Timpani, Bass drum, Cymbals, Triangle and Glockenspiel, as well as Piano and Harp, can also participate.
The degree of difficulty for the wind instruments is easy to moderate. Parts can be split between two musicians, taking into account the number available and their individual skills.
The string parts are clearly simplified. The viola can be replaced by a third violin, while the cello/bass group can be supported by a simplified additional cello/bass-easy part (both parts are included in the set).
You can obtain numerous alternative parts (including saxophone and bass clarinet) simply by download. In addition we offer once again with our new scores the well-established part-books with the right to make copies as needed for your individualized orchestra requirements.
