This great day which Mozart knew so brilliantly to represent with his music, shows to full advantage in our selection of arrangements, too. Despite the omission of the difficult unisono measures of the Ouverture - the Introduction sets the mood for the turbulent events of the day.

The dance-like Cavatine des Figaro both introduces the major events of the opera – the dispute between Figaro and the noblemen – and captures the spirit of the people just before the sweeping away of the Ancient Regime. The only intrigue that succeeds is the one arranged by the female protagonists in the Letter Duett. All the others fail or are unintentionally frustrated by Cherubino who in his Canzone proves himself to be a teenager in love.

Along with the parody of a march in the Aria of Figaro, both the Wedding March and the minuet-like Tanz vor dem gräflichen Paar reflect the dance-like qualities of the suite. The Cavatine of Barbarina provides a slow interlude, but both, Finale of the 2. act as well as the Finale of the 4. act set dramatic accents.

The easy arrangement can be played by a string ensemble alone. Only the 1st violin and cello shift rarely into a higher position. The viola can be replaced by a 3rd violin. Six winds - C I / II, B-flat I / II, F, C-bass - and timpani can be added for a chamber orchestra. A piano score is helpful for learning the piece and for providing accompaniment.

More than in any previous opera, the music in The Marriage of Figaro is so carefully crafted that it reaches its full magic even without a text. Nonetheless, if the music is summarized and placed into context, then the performance becomes even more meaningful for the public as well as the musicians. Our special talk show offers a lively medium which paints a broad view of the opera and helps clarify the many complicated subplots and intrigues. Each full score also includes a text which can be used directly or serve as the basis for an improvised talk show experience. Possibilities are also present to involve the audience, even children. Thus the talk show is a guarantee for even greater success.

New ! Additionally for the pieces Cavatine of Figaro, Aria of Figaro and Cavatine of Barbarina chant is available! The voices are available in the downlaod section (PDF).
