Music from out of this world - an intense experience for any ensemble. The members of the orchestra experience together a romantic work, which very expressively accompanies the fantastic story of Peer Gynt.
The arrangement is developed from Edvard Grieg's score for Henrik Ibsen's famous play. It includes those popular movements which Grieg himself selected for his suites, enhanced by the introductory music The wedding party and the simple but elegant Solvejg's lullaby.
Basis of the arrangement is a carefully simplified string edition. Additionally, a guitar and up to six wind instruments (C I / C II, B-flat I / II, E-flat / C-bass), as well as percussion instruments (timpani, bass drum cymbal, triangle and tambourine) can be included. A piano score helps in rehearsal and can be used for accompaniment in the performance.
The music and lyrics offer many additional possibilities for integrating other performing arts, such as dance and drama, and therefore even further expanding the cast.
Climax of the evening was without a doubt Edvard Grieg's Great Suite Peer Gynt ... The edition for school orchestra combines the most important themes of the Suite in a very slip-proof manner. |
