The animals dressed up in sounds guarantee cheerful music making. The arrangement contains all 14 numbers of the original. The two piano parts are converted into a single simplified piano part as well as string and wind parts.
Four wind players can expand the string movement. (2 parts each, in C and B-flat). A solo violin, B-flat wind player or solo cello can play The Swan alternatively. With amusing words (available in German), a zoo director connects the individual movements.
I want to pay tribute to the excellent arrangement of "The Carnival of the Animals" by Stefan Taupe ... the original score was simplified with such great feeling and skill, that a trained music school orchestra can perform this suite with great success ... at the same time the musical characteristics of the different animal scenes are not affected, and the overall sound comes amazingly close to the original ... Since as the complete material is available in an exquisite quality print, it is a great pleasure to work with this edition. |
