Hardly any other piece is appreciated so quickly by young people as The Magic Flute. That is why they are especially eager to play this wonderful music themselves.
The suite includes 14 substantial numbers from the opera. Even a small ensemble of advanced string players can play them. Additionally, six different wind players can be included as desired: flute, oboe or 2nd flute, clarinet, trumpet or 2nd clarinet, French horn, bassoon or trombone. For two numbers, the use of piano or Glockenspiel is suggested. The narration puts the music into a captivating context.
I never before heard our students playing so enthusiastically. They were enchanted by the beauty of this music and happy to get the chance to play The Magic Flute. I can recommend this arrangement highly to other music schools! |
