Inspired by her students demand for challenging yet playable pieces Andrea Wiegand commissioned the composer Gerhard Buchner in 1995 to arrange the most beautiful melodies from The Magic Flute. The reactions to this arrangement surpassed all expectations, and so the idea emerged to not let it rest there. It was the birth of the publishing house. Further arrangements followed, new authors were acquired and the series Pleasure Concert, Festive Music and Minute-Hits were created. Meanwhile the Music Publishing House Andrea Wiegand offers a rich program of arrangements of classical master pieces for school and amateur orchestras. Since autumn 2006 it is being complimented by the fourth publishing series Cool Concert, which features original compositions exclusively.
